At SVCC, prayer is vital to the heartbeat of our community life and seek to surround all that we do in prayer. God hears and answers the prayers of his people, using them as the means to accomplish his will in the world. It is an amazing thing that God has provided prayer as the means of our involvement in his purposes.
The prayer ministry of SVCC is fluid and constantly active, but listed below are three specific places you can become involved with small groups of prayer warriors.
Sunday Pre-Worship Gathering
Sundays 9:30am-10:15am, people gather in the upstairs prayer room to share needs, seek prayer, read scripture, reflect, and to specifically pray for the morning worship gathering before it begins.
Sunday During our Worship Gathering
During the latter portion of our morning worship gathering we respond to the preached Word through communion, song, prayer, reflection, etc. As people take communion and sing, members of the prayer ministry spread out around the worship room and are available if anyone wants someone to pray for them or with them. Also, there are some who position themselves on one of our “balcony” areas and literally pray over our faith family during our time of response.
Wednesdays 6:30pm-7:30pm, people gather in the upstairs prayer room for an hour of prayer, encouragement, mourning, rejoicing, scripture reading, and seeking God’s will for SVCC. It is always a wonderful time of prayer and anyone is welcome to come.
