About Shades Valley Community Church

Shades Valley Community Church is an open, welcoming community affiliated with the Evangelical Free Church of America. Although we do have various ministries to our congregation and the larger communities of Homewood and Birmingham, Alabama, we are not a program driven church.

SVCC is congregationally ruled, but elder led. Our various ministries are primarily overseen by the Servant Leadership Team, a nominated and appointed gathering of community members serving and assisting in the direction and development of our Kingdom work.

Among our core values are deepening communal intimacy, the strengthening of families, practicing compassion, and growing in faith and understanding.
